This Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness e-Learning program presents an interactive design for education and training on basic health and safety awareness training for all supervisors. The goal of this training program is to give participants knowledge and information which they can understand and apply to keep healthy and safe at work today and every day.

OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this training program participants will be able to:

• Understand the health and safety responsibilities associated with being a supervisor.
  
  
• Describe how you fit into the Internal Responsibility System (IRS) and how the employer, supervisor and worker cooperate to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
  
  
• Recognize, assess, control, and evaluate hazards in the work environment.
  
  
• Understand sources of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and its regulations as well as information including workplace health and safety policies and procedures, material safety data sheets, operating manuals, recommendations of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and the company's Health and Safety Representative.
  
  
• Demonstrate the steps needed to be a good role model for other workers in the workplace and be able to explain the importance of following the workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

TRAINING PROGRAM DURATION

Average time to complete this Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness e-Learning program is approximately 35-45 minutes. This e-Leaning program is self-paced. Participants may pause/leave the online training program at any time and can resume where they left off.

All supervisors in Ontario workplaces must complete mandatory health and safety awareness training.

Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness e-Learning

Created specifically for supervisors and/or those in a temporary supervisory position, in Ontario workplaces, this training program allows participants to gain a greater understanding of their role and duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) in keeping the people they supervise healthy and safe. Participants will review the five basic steps and their related topics, for example, their duties as a supervisor in promoting and maintaining a health and safety culture within the workplace, recognizing and reporting workplace hazards using the R.A.C.E. process, the role of the Internal Responsibility System (IRS), and what additional resources are available for getting help dealing with health and safety issues and concerns.

Developed by HR Proactive Inc., based on the OHSA and Ministry of Labour requirements, this Supervisor H&S Awareness e-Learning program features built-in review quizzes and scenario testing to reinforce participant learning. At the end of the program participants will be able to print a Certificate of Completion.
